Ho’oponopono is a Hawaiian healing method and prayer that was originally taught by Morrnah Nalamaku Simeona.
It has more recently become modernized by Dr. Ihaleakala Hew Len, and has become popular through the book Zero Limits written by Joe Vitale and Dr Hew Len.
It's based on the premise that we are 100% responsible for creating our own reality, which includes everything and everyone that we experience in our life. It's based on the idea that everything that happens to us is really just a memory or an old program that we are running. These memories are passed down from our parents, our family and our ancestors, possibly even from past lives. If we get a disease, then its the memory of that disease that we are running, and we employ Ho'oponopono healing to erase these memories, and bring us back to zero state. This process is called 'cleaning.'
"The main purpose of this process is to discover the Divinity within oneself. The Ho'oponopono is a profound gift which allows one to develop a working relationship with the Divinity within and learn to ask that in each moment, our errors in thought, word, deed or action be cleansed. The process is essentially about freedom, complete freedom from the past".
Dr. Hew Len was a staff psychiatrist at the Hawaii State hospital for the criminally insane in the 1980s, and using Ho'oponopono he was able to cure the entire ward!
According to a nurse that worked there in those years, the place was so bleak that not even the paint could stick to the walls, everything was decaying, terrifying, repulsive. No day would pass without a patient-inmate attacking another inmate or a member of the staff. The people working there were so frightened that they would walk close to the walls if they saw an inmate coming their way in a corridor, even though they were all shackled, all the time –but more than once this wouldn’t stop an agression. The inmates would never be brought outside to get fresh air because of their relentlessly threatening attitude. The scarcity of staff was a chronic occurrence. Nurses, wardens, employees would prefer to be on sick-leave most of the time in order not to confront such a depressive and dangerous environment.
After a few months of Dr. Hew Len being there, patients that had to be shackled were being allowed to walk freely. Others who had to be heavily medicated were getting off their medications. And those who had no chance of ever being released were being freed. Dr. Hew Len worked there close to four years. In the end, there remained only a couple of inmates that were relocated somewhere else and the clinic for the mentally insane criminals had to close.
How did he do this? He would read their files, and then feel whatever feelings came up, like disgust or sadness, and then he said the Ho'oponopono prayer for each person, asking Divinity to clean in him whatever old program or belief he himself was running that caused him to create this in these people. He was taking full responsibility for these inmates and their problems being in his life/awareness, and he asked for these memories in him to be erased, which in turn erased them for the inmates as well.
The prayer is simple.
I am sorry
Please forgive me
Thank you
I love you
So, to clean on your visit to the dentist, you could just say 'I'm cleaning on my visit to the dentist today'....and then use the 4 phrases above. There are other cleaning phrases that one can use, such as dewdrop, gingersnaps, ice blue, Hawaii...and many others. You can mix and match any of them, and they all clean the situation. Some phrases are specific too, such as the word 'stawberries' is specific for losing weight. It cleans on other things as well, but apparently its excellent for balancing weight.
